Approximately one acre of America's Civil
War battlefield land is lost |

| Many of the Civil War sites around
the country are in danger of being lost forever to development and neglect. Monuments and grave sites, battle flags and battlefields are falling into disrepair; preserving our past has become expensive. Occasionally the Michigan Soldiers' Aid Society donates funds to battlefield preservation causes. We also donate funds to the Civil War Preservation Trust (CWPT) to purchase battlefield land across the country in the interest of preservation from commercial and residential development. |
